That's why I consider their G14 2022 model, which I also saw some good reviews from Linux users, and put it high in my consideration list. Thanks to ASUS Linux, I personally have no Linux compatibility issue, and S3 suspend works flawlessly with G14 2020. I don't really want to install Armoury crate again that bloats the OS with tens.

I tried many fixes online but nothing worked. I have had a chance to extensively use ASUS G14 2020 with AMD 4800HS. I'm trying to control fan speeds on my Strix III (Intel 9750H + RTX 2060) The problem is that the software I used to use (NBFC) no longer works. Lastly, although I don't have good experience with HP laptops on Linux, Asus' higher-end models do generally work well, especially G14. And I think for similar specifications, if I really want to go with the soldered ram, maybe System 76 Pangolin can potentially be a better value. I really wish it comes with exchangeable/upgradeable ram, but it seems that it is what it is. But I do see some ASUS TUF and Lenovo Legion users report that UMAF can't turn on S3. That's why I intend to stick with S3 suspend.Īs for the UMAF part, as far as I saw on the internet, the S3 suspend functionality of both ASUS G14 2022 (with AMD 6800HS & 6700S), and HP Omen 16 (with AMD 6900H & 6650M) can be turned on by UMAF. And this freezing issue seems to happen both on Linux and Windows however, Linux seems to suffer more. So I'm not too concerning the battery draw, but rather the random S0 modern standby freezing issue and not being able to wake up the laptop that many AMD laptop users are reporting. I charge my device every day, and anything below a 5% loss will be good for me.
